About Luka

Luka was born and raised in Japan and is currently settled in York. Her passions are music, art, and history and she especially finds beauty in the glamorous world of vintage culture and jazz.
Her unique singing background started in Nagauta (traditional Japanese music which accompanies the Kabuki theater). Later, Luka joined a jazz band in Japan. She fell in love not only with jazz songs but also the style: gorgeous dresses, perfect hair, make-up and charismatic personalities such as her idols Julie London and Peggy Lee.
Performing alongside professional jazz musicians, Luka’s rich, warm voice carries elegance with feelings. Featuring jazz standards with an air of romance, up-lifting swings, beautiful ballads, relaxing bossa nova and Latin pieces, Luka’s live sets are perfect for occasions requiring sophistication. Luka has performed in some of London's best 5 star hotels such as The Savoy Hotel, The Londoner Hotel and popular places such as Brasserie Zédel, Nightjar and Oriole bar.
Creative to her core, Luka styles her own hair and makeup for every performance. She is a graduate of the London College of Fashion, worked as a professional make-up artist for 10 years and has travelled across Europe for photoshoots and fashion shows. Just as with her singing, she expresses her passion for beauty through her make-up skills.

As a beauty history enthusiast, Luka was a regular contributor for The Vintage Woman Magazine and wrote articles about vintage make-up and fashion. She also appeared as a model for one of The Vintage Woman Magazine’s cover stories “Identity”. In the interview she said “Knowing what looks good on you and what makes you happy is the best inner beauty you can get. I admire the confidence I found in vintage style.” Much of her wardrobe is bespoke, Luka sews all of her stunning dresses herself. She is a brand ambassador for Minerva the UK’s leading craft company, sews many beautiful dresses and writes about the creating process. Her goal is to create a look and sound that brings glamour to every stage.
In 2024, Luka released her first EP “Isn’t It Romantic?”. The EP celebrates her love of jazz. Simple but sophisticated sounds with a selection of love songs that inspire her. The album was recorded at the award winning Morningstar Studios in the US.
